It all began with an innocent question: maybe we could help too?
The world faces a previously unknown virus. We are all joining forces to help him it will be too late. 3D printers also want to help.
The Polish environment of 3D printers wants to support the activities of the Polish health service and uniformed services - people who are on the front line. Being behind, we feel responsible not to sit back and support them with our skills and abilities. We want them to know that they are not alone. We are not indifferent.
That is why we created the action #DrukarzeDlaSzpitali (3D Printers for Hospitals), where we focus the environment of 3D printers, designers, constructors, engineers and volunteers who want to help.
Using 3D printing technology, we create several projects that can be used in a higher state of necessity, i.e. goggles, visors and tees for respirators. We are not able to carry out approvals and obtain the necessary certificates for our equipment in such a short time. Therefore, we say openly that these things can only be used in a state of higher necessity.
This does not mean that we do not do our tests - we are in constant contact and consult with doctors and rescuers as well as employees of other services.
During the week several versions of each equipment were created. With the help of 3D printing technology, we have prototyped the elements we need - goggles, helmet fastening elements. We have conducted many tests. We have already selected the most optimal models of visors and goggles and tees for respirators. The production process is ahead of us.
